If you have implemented a NetMAX FireWall/Professional as your internal network's gateway to the Internet, you should be able to prevent your users from accessing the Instant Messenger servers by adding the following firewall rules to your internal network interface:
If these rules fail to block users from using AOL Instant Messanger query the name servers to find if there are any other IP addresses for login.oscar.aol.com. You can do this by using this command on the linux command line: nslookup login.oscar.aol.com
