1. New NetMAX L2.4Pv5.5 Features

2. Blocking Messenger Software Traffic

If you would like to block common internet messaging programs from getting through to your NetMAX-protected network, you can do so by targeting the ports these programs use:

MSN Messenger = 1863
Yahoo Messenger = 5000-5010 (voice chat), 5050 (text)
AOL Instant Messenger = 5190

Blocking these programs is as simple as creating an input and output firewall rule dropping all traffic on both rules:

Rule type: INPUT
Action: drop
Protocol: TCP and UDP
Source: Any
Destination: Use Network(s) of this NetMAX server
Destination Port: 1863,5000-5010,5050,5190

Rule type: OUTPUT
Action: drop
Protocol: TCP and UDP
Source: Use Network(s) of this NetMAX server
Destination: Any
Destination Port: 1863,5000-5010,5050,5190
