2. EMUMAIL Webmail available November 11
*************************************

Through the NetMAX EMUMAIL Webmail 5.1 package, employees of small- and medium-sized businesses can access email anytime and anywhere using any web browser. Depending on the number of domains and users, Web-based email can be more cost effective for an enterprise than other alternatives; it eliminates the need to forward email from a company address to a free mail service for access while traveling.

The EMUMAIL Webmail 5.1 package supports all Javascript-compatible web browsers, including Netscape, Internet Explorer, and Opera and is an ideal solution for a wide range of display devices from WebTVs and PDAs to the more traditional PC and Macintosh desktop systems.
EMUMAIL Webmail is based on EMUMAIL's IMAP QuickView technology, which gives users the ability to quickly display mail messages, regardless of the size of the mailbox or the number of folders it contains. Version 5.1 has an updated user interface, new interface customization through skins, improved address book, integration with calendar functions, improved import/export, and remote server file editing facilities. The product's standard features include those typically found in desktop email clients: attachments, spell check, user address books, filtering rules, and remote mailbox viewing.

3. NetMAX Store - eCommerce available November 11
********************************************

Interchange is an open source alternative to commercial e-commerce and application server solutions. It is one of the most powerful tools available to automate and database-enable web sites for online e-commerce and storefront applications. However, in its open source form, Interchange is not easy to use or install. As a NetMAX package, Interchange has been configured to tightly integrate with the NetMAX Professional 4.01, and includes detailed documentation for package modification to allow for storefront personalization.

The NetMAX Interchange e-commerce suite supports the sale of downloadable content or durable goods, credit card processing, order processing, content management, customer service and reporting and analysis. With NetMAX Interchange, customers can implement traditional retail sales, digital goods delivery, B2B parts re-ordering, non-commerce content management, auctions, order status checking, supply chain management, project management, online collaboration and even MP3 Jukebox distribution. NetMAX Interchange can be used as a completely self-contained product over NetMAX Professional 4.01 or part of larger system e-commerce systems.

NetMAX Interchange can be integrated with payment processing services, ERP systems, point-of-sale systems, accounting systems, external content management systems, Java-based application servers, sales force automation systems, customer relationship management systems, email campaign management systems and remote databases on virtually any platform.

4. NetMAX 4.01 Patch Release
****************************

A patch is now available for NetMAX 4.0 version owners that upgrades NetMAX L2.4Pv4.0 to NetMAX L2.4Pv4.01. You need to use Package Management to get this patch, which can be found inside the NetMAX server. If you need instructions on how to do this, visit the NetMAX web site for a step-by-step guide:

http://www.netmax.com/support/installing_rpm_packages.html

This service pack addresses the following issues:
- upgrades OpenSSL to 0.9.6g.
- Delivery of email now results in output to user mailboxes instead of the system mail spool directory.
- DHCP client now better handles errors when either the hostname or domain name are not supplied.
- Fixes protocol issue with DNS client firewall exception rule.
- Adds proxy server cache rule to firewall exception rules list.
- Fixes bug that prevented registration of VPN-only products.
- Fixes bug that prevented setting the clock on systems whose default time was set to before Jan 1, 1990.
- Removes bogus configuration line for DHCP server configuration that caused Windows clients to not receive an IP address if the NetMAX's DNS server was not properly configured or running.
- Fixes permissions problems with traffic rerouting files.
- Fixes problem with duplicate rejection addresses causing mail parsing to fail during commit.
- Better handling of DNS entries for multi-homed hosts (e.g., more than one configured Ethernet interface).

Please note that this Upgrade will reboot the system.

5. Updated VPN Documentation
****************************

Newer VPN configuration documentation is now available for the
NetMAX VPN Server 4.0. To download the documentation, go to

6. Previous Version Upgrade Policy
**********************************

With the new release of NetMAX 4.0, it's important to note our security upgrade policy for previous versions. If you own a NetMAX 3.2 version, security patches will be supported until January 1st, 2003 (as NetMAX 4.0 was officially released on October 1st, 2002). After that, there will be no more patches for 3.2.

The complete policy can be found at:
