| NetMAX Newsletter - November 2005 1.
[Support] Holiday Hours It's the holiday time of year, and we here at NetMAX would like to wish you happy holidays in advance! Because of the holidays, NetMAX Support will be closed from Thursday, December 22nd until Tuesday, January 3rd. Online help will continue to be available during this time, and our technical support number will still be accepting support messages over the holidays, but immediate live phone support will be unavailable. Because of these holiday hours, any support requests or orders recieved after 2pm on Thursday, December 22nd may not be addressed until we resume normal support hours on Tuesday, January 3rd. Thanks for your patience, and have a happy holiday season! 2. Changing IP Addresses in the same Subnet If you are changing one IP address to another in the same subnet, simply go to Network->Interfaces->Edit Interface, manually change the address, and do a Commit. If you are changing multiple IP addresses on an interface, or changing to an IP on a different subnet, you will need to follow the below steps. Due to many input validity checks (for safety), it's not possible to just change the address outright.
3. NetMAX Desktop Demo in Lansing The NetMAX Team is making another stop on the NetMAX Desktop demo tour on Thursday, December 8th in Lansing, Michigan. The NetMAX Team will demonstrate the Linux-based NetMAX Desktop OS, which has recently exceeded 5000 downloads. The Greater Lansing Linux Users Group holds informal meetings most weeks on Thursday evenings, and invites anyone interested in free software or Linux, at any level, to attend. Meetings are held at Gone Wired Cafe on most Thursdays starting at 6:30pm, and lasting until everybody decides to go home. For more information, visit the GLLUG website:
We still have a limited number of remaining SG20 units, so the Magnia Clearance is still in effect as long as supplies last, or until the end of December 2005. These Toshiba Magnia SG20 bundles come with licenses for NetMAX Professional Suite, Firewall ProSuite and VPN Server Suite 4.06 all included and pre-installed for $199 -- and you can upgrade to the NetMAX 5 versions for only $75 more. Please remember that you can only get this deal by calling us direct. To order, contact NetMAX Sales at:
We would very much like to hear from you -- especially about how you use NetMAX and Linux in your business, and how we can make NetMAX better suited to your needs. Contribute your input to the NetMAX Forum at:
or to our general NetMAX contact form at:
Let us know about your likes, dislikes, and general comments. We are especially interested in the type of additions to NetMAX that you would like to see as we continue to develop the NetMAX line. Thank you! |
