1. Holiday Hours

It's the holiday time of year, and we here at NetMAX wish you all Happy Holidays! Because of the holiday season, NetMAX Support will be closed on the following days:

Monday, December 24th
Tuesday, December 25th
Wednesday, December 26th
Thursday, December 27th
Friday, December 28th
Monday, December 31st
Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Online help will continue to be available during the holidays, and our technical support number will still be accepting messages, but live phone support will be unavailable.

Because of these holiday hours, major support requests or orders received after 2pm on Friday, December 21st may not be addressed until we resume normal support hours on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2008.

2. Solving Out of Memory Issues in NetMAX

In general, NetMAX is pretty stable operating system that doesn't go down too often. So when a NetMAX does go down, it often signifies a serious problem.

One common cause we see in these cases is when a NetMAX simply runs out of memory. There are several ways to prevent this without adding more memory to the server, such as:

  • Limiting the maximum email message size
    (see http://www.netmax.com/fom/fom.cgi?file=556)


  • Limiting memory available to the proxy caching server
    (see http://www.netmax.com/fom/fom.cgi?file=313)
