| General
Hardware Compatibility Notes |
- This
list is comprised of components that have been known to work
in most situations with the NetMAX product line. It specifies
hardware that is explicitly supported by the drivers distributed
with NetMAX.
- The
listed components have been tested to be compatible under most
circumstances. However, they are not guaranteed to work in all
situations, as conditions can exist in which the presence of
other devices can cause conflicts the listed hardware, or with
the system board itself. Some examples include:
- Manufacturers
of pre-built systems sometimes make modifications to the
base components included that cause them to behave differently
than expected.
- Installing
some hardware devices can cause other components in the
system to stop working - or to work poorly - due to resource
sharing between the components.
- Many
hardware manufacturers design hardware specifically for
use with the Windows OS environment and make no consideration
for other OS platforms. Consequently, purchasing the "newest"
hardware available is generally not in the best interest
of NetMAX customers until driver support is confirmed.
- The
NetMAX development team periodically performs hardware reviews
of readily available components to test compatibility with our
product line.
-
Other NetMAX compatible devices. The NetMAX Development team
is compiling a list of devices that have been reported to be
compatible with NetMAX products by users. These products have
not been tested by our engineering staff and are therefore not
directly supported. Any information that is available regarding
installation or use of such hardware will be posted in the NetMAX
knowledge base.
-
If
you have had success with a piece of hardware, and would like
to contribute to this list, send a message to NetMAX
Support containing the version of the NetMAX software
you are running, and the make, model, and firmware revision
of the device with which you had success.
-
In
the table below, items specified in the following format reflect
an entire series of hardware 53c8xx series This denotes
that all products from the specified vendor whose names begin
with 53c8 followed by two characters (signified by the
xx part of the description should be supported. Any incompatible
members in the series are noted in the Notes column corresponding
to the series.
