Installing NetMAX Updates

From the NetMAX Interface (Package Managment)

The NetMAX must be properly configured so that it can connect to NetMAX's FTP server ftp.netmax.com in order for this to work. Note NetMAX FireWall Version RH52PV2.0 requires the Security Update.

  1. Go to Home|System|Package Management (Or Home|Services|Package Managment prior to version L2.2Pv3.0)
  2. Click on Add.
  3. Select FTP for the Mode.
  4. Check the "Use Passive FTP" box if you're behind a NAT, of otherwise required to make an FTP connection.
  5. Click on the [DOWNLOAD INDEX] button and wait for your NetMAX to fetch the index of the available packages.
  6. Select "NetMAX" from the Index of Categories.
  7. Select the update that you want to apply and click on the [CONTINUE] button.
  8. Your NetMAX will then download the package.
  9. After the download, click on the [CONTINUE] button to install the package.
  10. Read the important information displayed by the installation of the package.

Note: Most upgrades will automatically reboot your NetMAX after the installation, which will cause your browser to lose it's connection to the server. If the upgrade doesn't require a reboot, you will be prompted to click on the [RETURN] button after the upgrade.

From the Command Line (shell)

  1. Transfer the NetMAX Update RPM to the NetMAX server that you want to apply it to.
  2. From the directory where the RPM is, type:
  1. rpm -Uhv <rpm_package_name>

Where <rpm_package_name> is the name of the NetMAX Update RPM.

    For example:

    rpm -Uhv L22Pv31-L22Pv31p1-1.0-3.i386.rpm

  2. Once the rpm is installed, you can delete the rpm file.
